NEO-TRADITIONAL CATEGORY (Pre-Made Tattoo):

  1. The NEO-TRADITIONAL TATTOO is a new tattoo art form, which is originally a modern variation of the old school or the American traditional tattoo. It tries to make the art form more modern by adding bold lines, color realistic images and cartoons in the symbol, but which still maintain the traditional character. These totems have arisen in the last decades with the advancement of the methods and paraphernalia’s of tattooing. A new generation of artists and enthusiasts have contributed a lot to the transition to the modern totems and made things more creative without sidelining the classic look. NEO-TRADITIONAL is still evolving as more styles come up with some notable trends as 3d inking, neon color, and the use of white ink. Although the images and symbols used in this new tattoo art form are basically the same, they appear very different from the traditional ones due to the technology used to create them. The theme is also changing as people adopt other symbols and images that are originally not part of the traditional culture.

  2. This premade category should be an original design composition and can be based on the roots of Philippine culture.

  3. Tattoo entries should range from a minimum of 7” x 7” or 49 square inch to a maximum of 15” x 15” or 225 square inch.

  4. Tattoo entries shall be judged according to originality of design composition, relevance to Philippine traditional culture, line work, color saturation and fusion, depth, placement, flow, and traditional character.
